Meet the Staff

Chris Morris
Lead Pastor
Bio:
I was born in Odessa, TX and moved to Tennessee early in my life. I lived in Clarksville, Tennessee until I was 33. I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was 6 years old. I was raised Free Will Baptist and went to the same church (New Hope FWB Church) all my life until moving to Colorado November of 2023. I had accepted the call to pastor at the age of 18 and decided to go to Bible college right out of high school in 2009. I tried it out for one year and then decided to run from God's will for my life. I left Bible college and decided to go into construction. I became an electrician and worked in that industry for 11 years. Then I moved into working for municipal electric companies as a project engineer. I did this for another 5 years and still did not feel accomplished in my life.
I met my beautiful bride Amber during all of this craziness called life. She had also grown up with me at New Hope FWB Church her entire life. We were married in October of 2015. We were still serving faithfully in our home church as children's Sunday school teachers. This was all happening while I was still wandering around, not doing what God had called me to do. God then decided to get my attention one evening. I began to struggle with the fact that God had called me to a task and I ran from that calling. God was dealing with me and I did not know what to do. So, one night lying in bed, I asked my wife if she would follow me into the ministry. She said "If God is telling you to do it, then we have to." This is when the lightbulbs finally went off. I knew I needed to follow God's call, and as soon as possible.
The next morning I began to search and we ended up having conversations with FWB North American Ministries. We were going to be church planters. So, we went through the processes of becoming stateside missionaries. This is what eventually brought us to Colorado. I began serving at Waypoint Church in Fort Collins and Highland Hills Free Will Baptist Church simultaneously as the Associate Pastor. During this time I was working to become an ordained FWB Minister. In June of 2025, I had finally finished the process for licensing and ordination. We left Waypoint Church and I came on staff as the Lead Pastor of Highland Hills Free Will Baptist Church in August of 2025. I am proud to serve this Church and they have all become family to us. I am so thankful for the Lord's patience in my life.
My beautiful wife has been a major blessing to have as a partner in the ministry and I thank God for her in my life, all that she does for our family, and our Church family.
We also have 3 children: Benjamin, Charlie, and Natalie
